Billie L. Leonard MSN, BSN, RN
Greetings! My name is Billie Leonard. I am a Kansas City native who graduated with my undergraduate degree from Washburn University and my Master’s from the University of Saint Mary. I have been in the healthcare field since 2000 and have been a practicing nurse for 13 years. My background in nursing stems from a medical-surgical foundation, that helped groom my bedside skills and time management. From there I grew into an emergency room nurse, where I have spent the majority of my career. My other passion is Forensic Nursing, which is what lead me to my love for teaching. Educating individuals and witnessing them grow into their own professional role is one of the most rewarding experiences I have had in nursing. When I am not working, I am with my family. My husband, Jared, is a scientist and whom I have known since fifth grade. We have two beautiful daughters, that keep us on our toes and on the go. My eldest is Jasmine who is my dancer and lover of all things art. My youngest is Jessica, who brings out the deepest laughs in all and who is always ready to have a good time. They are my heart, my soul and my world. Thank you for letting me share a little about me, I am excited to be a part of your healthcare journey and look forward to growing each other.
