The CNA training program at Mid-America Nursing & Allied-Health Institute is 90 clock hour program designed to be flexible and comprehensive at the same time. Enrollment is open to individuals ages 18 and above looking to pursue a career as health care professionals. Being a CNA lays the foundation to a successful career in health care, and provides employment opportunities while completing degree programs in nursing or other medical professions. The curriculum includes the following core learning topics, in addition to the Kansas approved course curriculum:
  • Safety in Patient Care Delivery
  • Mobility Assistance Techniques
  • Nutrition and Diet Education
  • Nurse Assistant Care
  • Body Mechanics and Human Anatomy
  • Taking and Monitoring Patient’s Vital Signs
  • Communication Skills in a Health care Setting
  • Assisting Patient with ADL (Activities of Daily Living)
To enroll in the CNA course, the student must meet the following requirements:
  • CPR Certification
  • Vaccinations record
The course runs from two (2) to eight (8) weeks in training, clinical skills, laboratory and external skilled practice opportunities under the guidance of certified instructors who are industry-experienced Registered Nurses. Students will have the option to select classes that suit their schedule. Upon completion of the CNA program, students will be awarded Certificate of Completion and be ready to take the Kansas State CNA Certificate Examination.

  • 16 years and above – (age 16 with parental approval)
  • State ID/SSN/CPR Card
  • Admission interview /Complete Admission Package
  • TB skin test or Negative Chest X-Ray result
  • Hunter green scrub (available for purchase on campus)
  • Gait belt
  • Blood Pressure Kit/Stethoscope
  • Tuition – $700 (includes free eText book)
